January 19th♥

Okay. From now on, more regular photos, and not so much with the iTouch. Cause those are boring.
It's a goal. :-)

So...today was great! The Sis and I had harp lessons, I played Uno with my little friend,
got back home and played with the horses some. Sunny and Cappie got a bit of a makeover via the horse brush. But after rolling in dirt, they need way more sprucing up than just a stiff brush. lol

I love my dog. a lot.
a lot a lot.

She wanted in...real bad.  It was really cute!

I fully realize that this is 2 more pictures than normal. **Grins** but I loved the sun flare in this one, even if my ISO was way too high. Thus the grainy look.
Oh, and what's the white fluff I'm holding onto?
Pearl.

January 18th♥

We got in our BUTTER today! It came all the way from Ireland. Isn't that too cool?
So now, once we eat it, "We'll be speakin' in Irish Brogue".

I love irish-y things. And I like butter.

Mr. Bingley got himself trapped inside our electric poultry fencing today. Let's just say he didn't like it.
Or the zapping that followed. Poor baby. So I rescued him, and then gave him a bone.
From then on he was fine. :-)

January 17th♥

Today was school day. Math to be exact. That's where mr. composition notebook comes in.

*Laughs* the finger at the bottom left corner does look weird there. Oops!

Other than that, it was a simple day! Just the usual chores, etc...
And catching a bunch of chickens in the dark.
That wasn't so usual. Oddly enough though, catching chickens is kind of fun! I foresee that becoming a southern sport somewhere down the road! :-)

January 16th♥

Today was a strange but good day.
By the way, Happy Martin Luther King day!
I got to sleep in this morning, then I did the usual chores, made my dad's breakfast and squeezed some fresh grapefruit juice. Yummsies.
I also made a weird carrot puree concoction. I think I really should stop playing around with carrots...my last experiment didn't work too well either. Naughty carrots.

I'm blissfully dreaming about gluten free cupcakes. Make that, "Gluten free, sugar free, grain free, and soy free" cupcakes.
Not to mention I've been reading too many cupcake books, blogs etc... But hey, its inspiration!
So I grabbed my little notebook, and sat compiling idea after idea of splendid cupcake recipes.
Yum again.

Today it's been kind of gloomy. We set up the electric wire chicken fencing this week, so the chickens are still getting used to that. They didn't want to go in tonight, so a lot of them were roosting on our porch railing. That's a no no.

And...that's about it. Just one of those dark rainy days that inspire you to stay indoors and be cozy.
And Daddy took the day off today, so that was really wonderful.

January 14th

Today was the average Saturday work day.
I  french braided my hair, cleaned out the chicken coop, fed the horses,
pet the horses, took pictures of the greenhouse plants, ate lunch,
made food, cleaned the duck coop, cleaned the
kitchen, ate more food, watched Pioneer Woman,
let Bingley out, accidentally scared Pearl, made dinner,
crashed, soaked in epsom salts, and now I'm zonked and ready
for bed. Thus the dazed expression on my face.

The shepherds pie was really good tonight. I think I shall dream of it tonight.

January 13th♥

Today was busy busy busy. I got up early this morning, and it was a frosty 24˚ when I went out to do the morning animal chores! It actually didn't get above freezing all day... So after chores, I finally got to exercise on the Elliptical trainer, and felt oh so much better afterwards.
Then I made chicken stock, and put some Sirloin Steak in the crockpot for dinner. Yummo.

Then the usual stuff happened, like cleaning up the kitchen, eating, chasing Bingley, and feeding chickens.
You should see Mr. B in his blue winter coat. I nearly died laughing.

And then I put up 25 lbs. of blanched Almond flour. I love that stuff, it makes the best
Gluten free pumpkin bread! Which you can't have without chocolate chips of course. :-)

I went outside this afternoon to take some pictures with my "real" camera, and I was only outside for five measly little minutes. When I went back inside, my fingers, toes and nose were frozen solid. ♥

                                                                      {Yesterday's snow}

Stay warm!

January 12th♥

Today I got up at 5:45 a.m, fed the animals, and drove into town with the Dad and Sis.
It started out a little rainy in the 45˚ temp, so it wasn't too bad. By the time
we got into town though, the temp had dropped at least 15 degrees, and was super windy.
And then it snowed! I love snow.

I had another Voice lesson, the Sis and I picked up a dog tag for Mr. Bingley (he kind of lost his) we went to Whole Foods, and then had awesome massages. It was a really great day! With snow!

I drank peppermint tea and ate hot soup for lunch.

Okay, the white flakes on my coat? "JUMBO" snowflakes! When the Sis and I went outside, it was blowing around like a "Little house on the Prairie" blizzard. You couldn't keep your eyes open for very long.

When we got back home the ground was all white, so if it lasts I'll take some more "snow" pictures tomorrow. I'm all bundled up right now, with my space heater. ♥

January 11th♥

Okay, pardon the dazed expression. I'm going to confess that I forgot all about
taking a picture today, so this is my "right before bed, really sleepy" picture.
Today was one of those days where nothing really seems to happen. :-) It rained a little, and I was bombarded by a big wet dog this morning at 5:50 a.m.
I did the usual daily animal/house chores, took a long relaxing soak in the tub,
made a lot of food and some really good mini lamb chops,
and finished off the evening watching a couple Westerns. I love westerns. Especially the
old "Rifleman" show.
haha, can you tell I'm tired?♥

And my Hugo Orange body lotion was photographed. It's really good stuff, and more importantly, it smells good, and actually works too. I need it with all this cold weather and dry skin.

January 10th♥

I got up at the average 5:50 a.m. to see my dad off and guard
him from the furry shedding dogs that like to say good morning...  ♥
Then I came back inside and slipped into my fuzzy slippers and
went downstairs to iron 5 yards of fabric for a project. Me+ early mornings+irons don't
mix all that well.
Today we went to harp lessons, and while Laura
was in her lesson, I played Old maid and Spit with my little friend, twas
so much funno!!!! I think I just invented a new word.
I made some pretty interesting tasting carrot soup. It was weird and disgusting...
I need to master the whole carrots blended up thing. At least I was creative.
Annnnddd....It's been kind of gloomy today, with a bit a rain... Yay and blah at the same
time.

I went outside tonight to put my ducks up, and there were 20 pairs of eyes looking at me.
Trust me, it's disconcerting with that many eyes on you. Especially when you don't know whether it's coyotes or deer.
It was deer. Pearl saved me from them all. ♥
Did I mention I like space heaters?

It's already Jan. 10th!

January 9th♥

Ha ha ha ha ha. Wow. Today I tried hot rollers for the first time in. my. life.
With the rollers in I looked like a teenage Mrs. Ziffel from Green Acres.
They were superbly easy, and it was the best cross between
a curling iron and foam rollers you sleep in.
Just to make a point, if you have frizzy hair, don't buy foam rollers.
You'll know why if you try them.
I almost uploaded the photo of me in the hot rollers,
but it was a little to horrendous.
But the end result was way way worth it. ♥

Today was "pick up the bedroom" day, and as always
its refreshing. I turned on some music, and then looked closely at my iHome.
It says it's 12:00 p.m. on January the 1st. Riiiiiggghhhtt....

The Sis and I went to pick up milk today, and Bingley came along for the ride.
He sat in my lap the whole entire way...
And then I came home and practiced voice and harp and chased Pearle out of the chicken coop.
Not much else happened except the usual eating and cleaning. Oh yeah, I de-boned a cooked chicken at 7:45 a.m.
That's about it.
I need to start taking more photos with my camera. It's easy to get lazy and just pick up the iTouch. So...that's just ONE of my New Year's resolutions. I like to dream big. :-)

I read a couple really neat verses in Proverbs a couple days ago:

Proverbs 16:1-3
1 The preparations of the heart belong to man,
But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,
But the LORD weighs the spirits.
3 Commit your works to the LORD,
And your thoughts will be established.

January 8th♥

Today was relaxed. I ate Salmon and lemon butter garlic sauce for dinner.
Twas good. Really really good. I'm getting ready
to start work on my sewing machine, cause there's something
exciting coming up. ♥ Can't wait!
I cleaned out my duck coop and chased Pearl around
and I ate soup for lunch. Yep, pretty normal.

I love the "easy" way to take pictures on iTouches now. You don't have to flip it over and hope your face is in focus. :-)

My Singer machine is ready for action. Its brilliant.

January 7th♥

I'm really lovin' the weather today. It got up to 60 degrees and was cloudy all day.
Dad and I took a 4 mile walk after passing out some eggs to the neighbors.
We are kind of running out of fridge space with all these eggs we're getting... ♥
On our walk I got something in my eye. Yay! It came out eventually...

I feel sort of silly...because I JUST figured out how to add a frame on instagram.
But now I know, so no more fumbling around on my iTouch trying to figure out what exactly I'm doing. :-)

I love Saturdays. I love Sauerkraut. I love the Scarlet Pimpernel. I can't stop reading the Scarlet Pimpernel series. They're just too good. My little nose has been in those books all week long.

I also love this huggable, white faced, brown beauty. She let me pet her all over today! I'm stoked. ♥
She kicked...or pushed, or just flat out busted another board in our fence today. The mischievous cutie pie.
She's such an attention hog.

The rest of the day was filled with trying to catch my breath after the walk, actually LIKING BUTTERNUT SQAUSH, making scrambled eggs, and taking pictures of everything. Good day.

Have a happy Saturday!

January 6th♥

I went to the office today with me daddy, and had lotsa fun doing random things. I drew my first actually real face. In other words, a face that didn't resemble a monster or modern art. Not that I intentionally drew monsters, they just kind of came out looking a little weirder than I hoped. But today was different, I was victorious! Yahoooo!....

And....I ate chicken soup and talked with my sis on the phone. That makes for an awfully great day.
I also went to Costco with my mom, and we got a gadget!!! It's one of those "choppy" vegetable thingies that has multiple inserts that makes life so much easier.
I know, that description was kind of non descriptive.
I think it's called the "Vidalia Chop Wizard" or something like that.

{"Hi there"}♥

Now, meet Genevieve. I always name my pictures, its just one of my weird quirks.
She says "Hi". :-)
I'm trying to figure out what emotion is in her face. It might be shock, not quite sure.
So, she's a shocked, black and white drawing, curly headed, large nosed Genevieve. But I like her.

See ya,

January 5th♥

I love the laid back, casual days where you just take everything in and add in the occasional afternoon projects...
Today we did a little bit of gardening! I planted a whole bed of "mystery" radishes. (radish seeds that got mixed in together) and the Mum and Sis planted kale, greens and something else which I forgot. :-)

The spinach plants in the raised beds are looking "awesome!"

Today's self portrait was kind of last minute... :-) I was all bundled up in my flannel shirt and fleece jacket cuz it was kind of cold today.

Anddddd...Bingley chased my ducks today, ate cauliflower and got fooled by my moms "duck" call alarm. He. Went. Nuts.

Much love,
~Lizzy♥

January 4th♥

Alrighty then... so maybe I need to work on my "surprised" face a little...I kinda of look dazed in a "just got out of bed" kinda way. Oh well, I guess it makes it more interesting. I hope.
By the by, I actually did not just get out of bed. ♥

The mum and I drove all over town today running the various errands that us farm girls' think necessary.
Our first stop was picking up 2 dozen duck eggs from some friends, since my ducks are on strike right now. *Shakes fist*  The duckies must not know I'm allergic to chicken eggs. Oh well. They have to lay sometime! I mean, have you ever heard of a duck that was on strike for the rest of its life?

Then we went to pick up the case of cauliflower that was not there. Yeesh... There was a mix up in the order, and we were put down for a case of broccoli instead. Seeing that we have a whole freezer full of packaged broccoli (really) we didn't bring it home. But we got to see some pretty views on our way, like this pine tree covered hill. *LOVE*

Then we picked up beef! Not just any beef. But beautiful, delicious grass fed, organic ground beef. Yummo. I *love* that too. I did mention it was REALLY good, right?

When we finally reached the home front, we were stuck. The guys who are fixing our road put a pile of chert (red gravell-y stuff) right in the middle of the road. So...we had to wait about 10 minutes to cross the creek. But I did enjoy watching the caterpillar machine pack it all down and scrape it to flat perfection.

Just another day on the farm,

January 3rd♥

Today was soooo much fun!
The big sis and I took a drive to our harp teacher/great friends' house today.
I got a harp lesson for the first time in 2 years, so I was supremely happy!
I also got to play dominoes with my little friend. We finally mastered it...after a while.
And...it has stayed below freezing all day today, so it was coats and ginger tea weather.

I also had fun with my mom's old sunglasses... ♥

Thankfully, the sun was abundant! Winters are coooolllddd, but God has created them to be just as beautiful as all the other seasons.

See ya tomorrow,
~Lizzy♥
